What is Hot Air Balloon?

The hot air balloon represents imperfect freedom and the hardships therein. Young Wash’s life and freedom are dependent on the whims and conflicts of the Wilde brothers. Even his eventual escape from Barbados is dependent on Titch’s hot air balloon, which caused much conflict between the brothers and possibly contributed to Erasmus’ extreme measures of recapturing Wash.
