Who is the antagonist in Waiting for Normal by Leslie Connor?

Denise, Addie's bi-polar mother, would be considered the antagonist in the novel. She neglects to care for her children or even see to their most basic needs. Her actions put Addie in danger, she takes no responsibility for her own actions, and she blames others for her circumstances.
