Vengeful Creditor, by Achebe, has as its moral lesson that of the struggle between public ethics and private actions. This is most notable when the government hopes to gain favor with the people by offering free education, but then have to cancel it when it is so successful and the people begin to actually learn and elevate themselves out of their poverty.
