Ulrika of Vastergohl was often referred to as the "Glad One" or "Unmarried Ulrika". She was well known for being a prostitute of sorts in the Swedish village where the group originated. She also has an illegitimate daughter. Ulrika, however, was proud to the point of being haughty. Once in America, Ulrika found that she was one of the few single women, and she was greatly in demand. She turned down several marriage proposals, believing that there would eventually be an offer ordained by God. This came to pass, and she married a Baptist preacher.
