How does Janet Evanovich use imagery in Two for the Dough?

The author employs much description in the novel. Sometimes whole pages are filled with Stephanie's observations of the actions of those around her. Not only are places described, their past is often given, along with their place in society. Places such as Clara's Beauty Parlor provide not only grooming services, but also social interaction for the residents.
