"Tracks" is divided up into four basic parts and each part is divided into chapters. The names for the parts seem to refer not to Robyn's physical journey, but to what is going on inside of her. Part One, "Alice Sprung," contains Chapters 1 through 5, and it describes the process Robyn goes through just to get started on her trip. This period takes two years and takes place in Alice Springs. Being "sprung" suggests that Robyn escapes from the prison of Alice Springs and her former, weak self.
