The novel is set in Parkview, a mid-sized town. Dez's house is on Kinder Street, which boarders Parkview Nature Preserve. Parkview is not particularly large, although it does seem expansive. Much of the novel takes place in hip locations in the city, including friends' houses, clubs, bars, and rave scenes. Much of the novel also happens at Denazen Corporate headquarters, a sprawling office building with several levels that, unbeknownst to Dez at the beginning of the novel, houses the Sixes, or people, her own father keeps prisoner.
