What is Fingernail Polish?

The fingernail polish is a symbol of mixed messages. Moira paints Bug’s fingernails hoping that she can convince Bug that she can be an attractive girl. Later, Bug is convinced one of the ghosts broke the bottle of fingernail polish attempting to send another message. Bug is afraid because the ghosts have never hurt anyone before and because she is not sure what message is being sent.
