The LGBTQ pamphlets are symbols of support. Bug finds these pamphlets, articles, and books stored under his bed where he had been collecting them for years. Throughout Bug’s life, Uncle Roderick had told her she could be whatever she wanted to be. It appears he knew before Bug did that Bug was transgender. The pamphlets were his way of being prepared to support Bug.
