Tel Aviv becomes a metaphor for past occurrences in the story. Tel Aviv is where Avram lives and where Ora has Sami drive so she can collect Avram for her journey through Galilee. During their journey through Galilee, many of the stories pertaining to Ora and Avram's pasts occur in Tel Aviv.
