The Soft Blade (Idealis, Seed)

Throughout the course of the novel, what the Soft Blade symbolizes develops and changes as more information becomes available, and differentiates based on character. Initially, when the xeno is discovered on Adra it is a symbol of fear and death. The blades from the xeno killed many of Kira's crewmates, and her inability to control the suit stoked fear in Kira that she might accidentally kill others.
