This is the chapter where Scout realizes that not all teachers are good role models. Her new teacher, Ms. Fisher, is not only inflexible and uncompromising in her world views, but is so firmly entrenched in following the rules that she forbids Scout from reading with her father at home (he's taught her to read and write....and she's in the 1-2nd grade).
