Aunt Alexandra annoys Scout a majority of the time. What Scout does not see from her persepctive, but what we see as the readers, is that Alexandra is actually assisting Atticus in the raising of the children. She makes sure that they do their homework, get to bed on time and remember to take baths. She ineffectually tries to teach Scout about being a lady, and she attempts to influence Jem's hot temper.
