Why is Bob Ewell so upset after Tom Robinson is convicted in TO Kill a Mockingbird?

Bob Ewell is so upset because when he testified against Tom Robinson he wanted to be a hero for that. But, he didn't get anything for winning. So, Bob Ewell basically did it for publicaty.
