Then She Was Gone

The novel centres on Laurel, the mother of Ellie who has gone missing. Do you think this was a wise focus to take with the novel?

This is the main narrative in the story. The main theme is family dynamic so the missing mother fits into it.

The family dynamic throughout the novel is constantly shifting. As readers, we are introduced to families that break and fall apart just to come together again evolved. We are also introduced to families that were never whole to begin with.
