Her often unrealistic expectations about life. She idealizes life as she sees it and interprets it happening for the pear tree. When she sees the bees interacting with the flowers on the pear tree she begins to formulate an idea of what life should be, but it doesn't play out in reality. This causes a lot of her problems.
