What is the setting of The Witching Hour: A Novel by Anne Rice?

The novel has multiple settings. Michael and Rowan both start in present-day San Francisco, the setting for Michael's rescue, which has occurred before the start of the novel. Michael is confined to his lovingly restored house on Liberty Street, but thinks about his childhood in New Orleans, especially the houses of the Garden District. Rowan moves between a house in Tiburon (outside San Francisco), left to her by her dead adoptive parents.
