Woolfgang betrays his own people. Wolfgang works as a stencil artist during this period. His signs maintain the distinctions between “white” and “colored” facilities for all but Wolfgang, who was known to slip into the white bathroom when necessary. As elite leaders of the movement, men like Wolfgang were granted more social access than most African Americans.
