What is the mood- atmosphere of the setting?

Chapter Eight? The Watson's are very excited over the record player. Dad plays Mama's favorite song, Byron, who usually thinks he is too cool to like things.... loves it, and they sit in the car for over two hours just enjoying it. The atmosphere and mood are light, happy, and filled with excitement.
