Charles Darwin takes a voyage around the world on a ship named the Beagle, commanded by Captain Fitz Roy. Darwin is a naturalist commissioned by the King of England to take this five-year voyage and report back on his findings. Along with his written observations, Darwin collects specimens of wildlife, plants, fossils and minerals. He encounters many different kinds of people, from primitive natives to civilized landowners.
