Bakha covets sweets from the market when he receives his meager earnings. He feels so proud in the first moments when he receives the sweets because he can escape from his duties for a short while. Although he is still subject to abuse in the market, the short fantasy of being a customer like everybody else brings Bakha some fleeting joy.
