As Low Man divests himself of his computer bag and suitcase in the aftermath of being abandoned by the woman he traveled a long way to see, it represents how he is divesting himself of beliefs, values, and desires that he thought was defining him at that point in his life. The action represents his letting go of who he believed he was, and is an important step along the path of what the story portrays as his journey towards becoming who he is, and who he needs to be.
