When the group is being chased by skeletal minions at Hoover Dam, Thalia refuses to try and ask her father for help. This has been a running theme with her throughout the book. She finally decides to ask for help when they are at the statues that were meant to honor him. To her surprise, her father responds and the statues spring to life and end up saving Thalia and the others. Even though Zeus doesn’t directly speak to Thalia, the statues show that he clearly cares about his daughter and doesn’t want to see anything happen to her.
