What is the setting of The Things a Brother Knows by Dana Reinhardt?

"The Things a Brother Knows" by Dana Reinhardt is set in a small community on the outskirts of Boston, Massachusetts. The protagonist, Levi Katznelson, lives with his parents and older brother, Boaz. Levi's big brother is just returning from three-years with the US Marines. Although the exact location of the war in which Boaz was fighting in is not revealed, it is apparently a modern-day war in either Iraq or Afghanistan.
