How does William Shakespeare use imagery in The Tempest?

The imagery can be fantastic, wild, ominous and beautiful. The beginning storm is wild and violent: a symbol or Prospero’s wrath. The island is full of lush forest and sprites, like Ariel. Prospero often stands on a hill or mountain depicting his majesty and power.
