How does Edgar Allan Poe use imagery in The Tell-Tale Heart?

The imagery is quite dark with shadows and glimpses of light. The imagery is seen through the lens of a very unreliable narrator so his descriptions of things, like the old man's bulging eye, must be taken with scepticism.
