What happened after the ship was wrecked?

After coming into view of the island, the family gathered supplies and ammunition and floated to shore in tubs. Over time, the boys went back to the ship and removed everything available, including a cow, a donkey, two goats, six sheep, a ram, a pig, chickens, ducks, geese, and pigeons.
