How does the author use foreshadowing in The Stranger?

Camus story is so well crafted that foreshadowing is imbedded within the protagonist himself. Meursault existential fatalism foreshadows his eventual downfall. Meursault cannot exist in a world that cares, even if the caring is based on absurdism, and still relate to social norms.
