The setting of this novel is a small motel in the Adirondack Mountains. The motel, Dreamy Pines Motor Court, is a collection of buildings that sit in a semi-circle around the main lobby building. Each cabin where the guests stay has a carport on either side for the guests to keep their cars. The lobby building holds the main desk, a reception lobby, and a cafeteria where guests can have a homemade meal.
