What is the author's style in The Spy Who Loved Me by Ian Fleming?

The language of the novel is simple English. At the beginning, when Viv relates her life living in Quebec, she includes some words in French, which is the language she grows up speaking. Later, when Viv meets Kurt, she also includes many words in German because Kurt is German. However, the rest of the novel is written in simple English, the type of English one would expect an educated young woman to speak.
