How does the author use foreshadowing in The Sound of a Voice?

In Scene One, when the Man removes a flower from the vase, Hwang illustrates his attraction to the Woman, as well as his awareness of her capacity for love. This action also illustrates, however, the man's destructive powers, foreshadowing both the eventual death of the flower and the Woman's death at the end of the play.
