The point of view of this book is both third person omniscient and first person. The purpose of the narrator in this book is to describe the setting in which each chapter takes place and to describe the appearance and emotions of each character. By having an omniscient narrator, the reader learns of the unspoken thoughts of the characters, as well as a clear image of where the story takes place and what the characters look like. There is a great deal of non-verbal expression throughout this book, so the narrator plays an important role in expressing this to the reader.
