The theme in the book The Son of Neptune is the theme of Sacrifice. The main plot through out the book is incompassed by each of the characters making a huge sacrifice or having someone they know make a sacrfice. Frank's mother was in the army and was killed, he finally realizes she died saving the country and effectivly for him. He makes a similar sacrifice.
