Silence represents the inability of language to communicate meaning in a world without technology. After the mysterious event throws the evening into uncertainty, meaningful communication begins to collapse between the characters. As darkness descends silence begins to overtake many of the conversations. Silence fills the emptiness as characters struggle to speak to each other and convey their deepest thoughts.
