Closely related to principle is the motif of loyalty. Whatever side a Sicilian was on, he was expected to be loyal to his leader. Loyalty is something that Turi demanded from his men. Those who were not loyal and betrayed him met their death and Turi always gave those men a minute to make their peace with God before they were executed.
