How does Percy interpret Clarisse's prophecy from the Oracle?

In Sea of Monsters, Percy listens to the oracle's prophecy for Clarisse. It says that in despair the quest will be completed and she will fly alone. Percy takes this to mean that since they only have enough money for one plane ticket, that Clarisse is to take the fleece, get on a plane, and go, alone, back to Camp Half-blood.
