What is Robert Frost thinking in his poem The Road Not Taken?

That even as he makes his choice to take the path less traveled by, he will have a sense of remorse that will follow him (the what-if of the situation). But he also knows, or suggests, that there is no right path, just a choice between two. He is weighing the possibilities of making a choice that will affect him for a lifetime.
