Why did the Ancient Mariner shoot the albatross?

The Ancient Mariner shot the albatross for no good reason but that he could. He was angry that the wind was not right and they were moving slowly on the water. Without thought or care he killed something that was innocent and he, consequently, pays the price.
Yes thats right actually ancient mariner shoot albatross because of lack of wind and the boat were going to the north instead of South
