The hook-handed man is a member of Count Olaf's theater troupe. We never learn his real name, but he is described as having two hooks where his hands should be. He has a terrible disposition and frightens the childrens immensely.

The hook-handed man hides his hooks with fake wooden hands, and he pretends to be a doctor named Dr. Lucafont. In the end, Sunny reveals the hook-handed man's true identity by biting one of the fake hands to reveal the hook.
