How Dr. Minor was a kind person?

I'm not sure that I would describe Minor as kind. He was, however, guilt ridden over his prior actions and did many things to try to make up for them. One example of this would be his financial support of George Merrett's widow, Eliza. He couldn't give her back her husband, but he could help her family.
