Who is Edward V from The Princes in the Tower and what is their importance?

Edward V was the son of Edward IV and Elizabeth Woodville. He was also next in line to the throne. It is believed that Richard had Edward V killed when he was twelve-years-old in order to remove any other legitimate claim on the throne.
