He acquired the Great American insurance company and began buying bonds from Milken. He had a holding company called American Financial Corporation. He was under investigation by the SEC when he became a customer of Milken and would eventually be charged with fraud and manipulation. Lindner would become the largest client of Drexel, Burnham under the promotion of Milken.
