Who is Emily Wardle from The Posthumous Papers of the Pickwick Club and what is their importance?

Emily Wardle is Mr. Wardle's youngest daughter. She begins a romance with Augustus Snodgrass during his first visit to Manor Farm. When Mr. Wardle brings Emily to London to visit Arabella Allen after her elopement with Winkle, Emily intends to elope with Snodgrass. Mr. Wardle, however, is reconciles himself to the marriage, and the couple plan a beautiful wedding which takes place at Mr. Pickwick's near residence in Dulwich.
