Creativity is a theme. Andy's creativity enters into his life when Andy is a young boy due to some extent from the physical limitations of a childhood illness. Andy is forced to occupy his time with quiet activities such as drawing and reading, which allow his young mind to explore and play with ideas. Andy grows up knowing that he is different from other children. This, in addition to the natural separation of creative people, alienates Andy from mainstream activities.
