In The People of Sparks the main conflict is happens when the people from Ember go to live among the people in Sparks. The two groups of people don't have some of the same values and belief systems and it causes problems to the point that Doon and Lina have to discover who is behind the vandalism and acts of violence before someone gets seriously hurt.
