Melanie Gold from The Pact is Emily's mother. She is the polar opposite of Gus, in that she is quiet and retiring. When Emily dies, though, she can't believe that her daughter would kill herself and so she latches onto the notion that Chris killed Emily. This causes her to cease her relationship with her friend, Gus, whom she's known for more than twenty years.
