In The Outsiders, what is Ponyboy's main motivation?

Ponyboy's biggest goal is to try and win the affection and love of his brother, Darry. He feels as if he is a let down to his brother, who has been raising him and his younger brother since their parents' death. He feels like he is a burden and in the way and he just wants to 'make good' in his brother's eyes.
