Who is Stacy McAdams from The Other Side of Dark and what is their importance?

Stacy McAdams (The Other Side of Dark) is the main character and is the narrator of the story. She is 17 year old girl who has just wakened from a four year coma after being shot. Now awake, she begins to remember the guy who shot her, and that her mother is dead. A reporter who interviews her reports that she knows who the killer is, but in reality, in her memory she can't see their face. However, this sets Stacy up as the killer now knows that she knows.

Once home and trying to return to a normal life, she is babysitting when a shadowy figure is seen. Later, she receives a threatening phone call. At a party thrown in her favor, a boy named Jarrod spikes her drink. When he lures her outside, he reveals that he is the killer. Just as things are about to get dicey, Jeff, another boy that she's met, intervenes. He drives her home. Later, she believes that it is suspicious that he knows where she lives. She will discover later that Jeff is an undercover police officer in her school.
