How does the author use foreshadowing in The Neutronium Alchemist Consolidation?

In Chapter Eight, the Roberto character is a trite snapshot of the stereotypically sleazy momma's boy. Hamilton introduces the character with a few short paragraphs when describing the new setting of Celina's house, and with sledgehammer foreshadowing, mentions that Louise never really liked her cousin. Then a few pages later, with little or no further development, Roberto attempts to rape Louise, is knocked out, and then disappears from the story.
