Ralph Hiltch was the ESA head of station on Lalonde. He captured a possessed woman named Annette Ekelund, and he brought her back to the Kulu Kingdom, where she spread possession on Ombey. Ralph carries a lot of personal guilt for his part in the possession and is determined to defeat the possessed. He is described as dutiful, idealistic and determined.
